As we expand our operations, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced UAS Program Manager to join our team.
Job Overview
The UAS Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of UAS-related projects and ensuring that they meet customer expectations, budgetary requirements, and timelines. This individual will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the UAS program, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UAS technology, project management, and operational processes, along with a passion for innovation in the UAV space.
Key Responsibilities

Program Management:

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of UAS projects from inception to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet client expectations and are delivered on time and within budget.

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, and ensure adherence to project schedules.

Manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure successful program outcomes.

Identify and mitigate risks, and address any issues or delays that may arise during project execution.

Team Coordination:

Supervise and coordinate UAS operations teams, including pilots, technicians, and data analysts.

Provide leadership, guidance, and training to ensure teams are operating efficiently and in accordance with safety and operational standards.

Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.

Client and Vendor Communication:
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring all UAS-related inquiries and project updates are communicated promptly and effectively.

Coordinate with vendors for UAS equipment, software, and services, ensuring all resources meet the technical and operational requirements of the projects.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all UAS operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including FAA guidelines and airspace restrictions.

Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring that all team members adhere to strict operational safety protocols and conduct regular safety briefings.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare regular status reports, project documentation, and performance metrics to communicate progress to senior management.

Track and report on project performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and adjusting strategies as needed.

Required Qualifications
-
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in UAS operations, project management, or a related field.

Proven experience managing UAS programs or projects, including overseeing technical teams and client communications.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of UAS technology, systems, and operations.

Familiarity with UAS software and data collection platforms.

Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) and the ability to create and manage detailed project timelines.

Regulatory Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations (Part 107, 333 exemptions, etc.), airspace classifications, and UAS operational guidelines.

Ability to maintain compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.

Leadership and Communication:

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams through complex projects.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications:
-
FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107).

Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus.

UAS-specific training or certifications, such as sUAS training programs or advanced operations certifications, is a plus.

Industry Experience:

Previous experience in industries such as surveying, agriculture, construction, or environmental monitoring.

Experience working with enterprise-level UAS platforms and data analytics tools.
