Current Altitude began as a passion project focused on sharing news and insights from across the Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industries.
What started as personal curiosity quickly grew into something more. Over time, a community formed around the platform, made up of professionals, students, and enthusiasts who followed along not just out of interest, but to better understand where the industry was headed and how it was evolving.
As we connected with more readers, one theme surfaced consistently. While technology and companies were advancing quickly, there was no single place to explore career opportunities across this emerging ecosystem. Roles were scattered across company websites, general job boards, and social feeds. Each time we shared a unique or lesser-known job opening, the response was strong. It became clear there was real demand for a more focused, industry-specific resource.
That insight marked the next chapter of Current Altitude.
The future of advanced aviation is being built by people with a wide range of backgrounds. Mechanical and electrical engineers. Embedded systems and autonomy specialists. Robotics experts, manufacturing leaders, flight test teams, operations managers, and program leaders. These roles often sit at the intersection of software, hardware, and real-world operations, and each plays a critical part in moving the industry forward.
Along the way, we also saw how many readers were discovering companies they had never encountered before. Beyond the most visible names in UAS and AAM, there are hundreds of organizations developing the components, platforms, and services that make progress possible. Highlighting these teams helps paint a more complete picture of the industry and the opportunities within it.
Our mission is simple: to connect talented people with the companies shaping the future of flight.
